There was a sale of work last week in the Granary Canteen to raise some funds for the International Artist Project.

Enough has almost been raised to get Pablo García Albizuri over from Spain for intense creative sculpture and art workshops here in Sunbeam with us.

Mad Hatters Tea Party - Admin

Well, the admin team laid on quite a spread for their mad hatters tea party as part of the 'Making SHS a Great Place to Work' initiative. Ovens must have been on till all hours the previous night baking the delicious assortment of brownies and other goodies....dont worry though there was also cucumber sandwiches.

Winner of the best hat is hard to say but Noeleen must be up there with her fruitbowl hat á la (Carmen Miranda). She must have strong neck muscles.

Michael Kendrick, a leading speaker on disability issues, discussing job and community roles for people with disabilities. He urges us to look for roles and we will find them like many communities who already have.

Staff Soccer Day 2012

One of those crunching, mis-timed tackles

Staff soccer day returned this year with a bang. South Wicklow had revenge on their mind having suffered defeat last time around.

There were plenty of crunching, mis-timed tackles and tired legs. The South had the better of the first half play at 2-1 but early in the second half the North got a second wind and lead by 2 goals at one stage. But the South staged a comeback to lead 6-5 in the dying minutes when Mick Teehan took a dive was mercillesly taken down by a member of the South's defense resulting in a penalty which Pat neatly slotted past Danny in goal. So it went to penalties and the South came out on top in the end.

Many thanks to James Doyle for organising the event, it was a great exercise in bonding. Thanks too to Robbie from the Garden Team for helping out with great photos. Thanks to everyone who came down to support aswell.

Know Your Neighbour Weekend

This weekend (14-15 July) is Know Your Neighbour Weekend. If you or your organisation haven't planned anything, don't panic - there is still time to organise a small event or to attend an event in your area! Get to know your neighbours and other community and voluntary groups in your area by hosting a: * morning tea * barbeque * picnic in a local park * cheese and wine evening * sports day * or any other fun event Can't host an event on the 14th or 15th? Why not host a lunch or after work event on Friday, 13 July? Alternatively you could attend one of these events.   Please remember to register your event at www.knowyourneighbour.ie and take lots of photos to enter in the Know Your Neighbour Photo Competition! Pop-up-shop on Wednesday 25 july

Hope you can donate any extra household items which you might have lying around at home,

As we are having a pop-up-shop on Wednesday 25 july in the canteen in shs in bray . 

There is a Drop in box at reception or bring items direct to Fiona O'Farrell s arts area at the end of the building .

The arts group have a big project planned for the autumn , and we will use all donations to help achieve our creative plans .

Batmobile in Dundrum

A few of the guys took a visit out to Dundrum to check out the batmobile from the upcoming Batman movie.

This guy is Great

Tommy Edison is blind but doesn't let that hold him back. Here he is taking photos on his iPhone with the Instagram plug-in. He is quite a character, very funny and positive.
